New!

Look for the green New sign next to materials that have been recently added to the directory. A lot has been added since the last directory was handed out at Diocesan Convention ‘07! If you need to visit an unfamiliar worship service, check out How to Be a Perfect Stranger in the Ecumenical/World Religions section or check out Radical Welcome in Congregational Development if you want to welcome others to your congregation; if you’re looking for some good material on mission and missionaries, look at Windows on Mission in Outreach and information on the Millennium Development Goals in the same place. There are new collections for prayers, Praying with the Bible and Fifty Prayers by Karl Barth in the Spiritual Practices section.  And there’s a lot more. Browse the directory and find many new items to help you and your congregation!

Christian Formation for Adults

Christian formation is a lifelong process; it begins when we are baptized and ends-or is transformed-when we are buried. Christian formation as an adult takes place in many ways and in many venues. An adult chaperoning a busload of youth to the National Acolyte Festival may experience formation as may a person attending a small group Bible study; the latter, however, is more purposeful.
