Butler Bass will be speaking in Saginaw on April 17-18, 2009. (The registration
form is now available on EastMich)
She will be speaking on Christianity for
the Rest of Us, her excellent study of main line churches that are
thriving. While “conventional wisdom” says that only conservative, evangelical
churches are growing, she has found that there are many mainline churches that
are healthy and even growing. The conference will talk about how these churches
have moved toward “practice-centered” Christianity and the specific practices
that are revitalizing these congregations. The book on which the conference is
based is an exciting and helpful book for every congregation and reading
it will be good preparation for the conference!
