Do you recall how it was that you first came to realize that you were being called to ordained ministry? Do you remember where you were and how you felt? Do you recall the faces of those who encouraged you and helped you on your way?

Can you name how the Spirit helped you find your voice, led you to discover your unique gift of ministry, filled you with a sense of purpose and belonging, and how in turn, the Spirit guided you to help others find their voice, their unique ministry, their purpose and place in the Beloved Community of God in Jesus?

The Clergy Retreat this year will take up these questions. The hope is that our gathering will deepen relationships; reviving old friendships and encouraging new ones. We will pray and sing together. We will share meals and quiet time and Spirit-fed communion. Our bishop will be with us with stories to tell and dreams to cast. And, Spirit-willing, we will return home rested, revived, and renewed.

We hope you will join the clergy community of the Episcopal Dioceses of Eastern and Western Michigan for three days of rest and renewal, May 16-18, 2023.

During the closing Eucharist and Chrism Mass, we will all — priests, deacons, and bishop — renew our ordination vows as a beloved community of accountability and joy. Clergy wishing to attend only the Chrism Mass are able to RSVP, selecting the no-cost “Chrism Mass Only” option.
